Ranch Style Buttermilk Biscuits
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 tablespoons cubed butter
- 1 cup buttermilk (May need more)
In a bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together. Cut butter into mixture until it begins to look like cornmeal.
Make a well with flour mixture and slowly add milk into the middle. Knead dough with your fingers and add milk when necessary. Use a large cookie scoop or ice cream scoop to form drop biscuits, "drop" onto cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Preheat oven to 425 °, bake 12-16 minutes depending on size of the biscuites. Keep watch!
CHEESY Garlic Biscuits
To the above, add 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon dried parsley and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the dry ingredients. you may have to add more buttermilk than stated above.
*Buttermilk makes the biscuits so much better! Flavor, color and texture are all enhanced.
